On May 26 and 27, we were honored to welcome Dean and Director of the Music Devision David Serkin Ludwig and Mr. John Herbert (Director of Admissions) from The Juilliard School in New York. Continuing the relationship established last year, they held a meeting with President Ichiro Nodaira and Vice President Noriko Ohtake (Director, Center of International Affairs).
During their time at the Ikebukuro Campus, the Juilliard representatives observed orchestra rehearsals and MMC Studio Electronics classes, while also engaging in meaningful interactions with students from TCM High School.
The visit continued at the Nakameguro Campus, where the delegation engaged with university students and faculty members. As a highlight of the visit, Mr. Herbert conducted a special information session titled “Juilliard Today: Understanding Music Colleges in the U.S.” Participating students remarked that the session provided an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the admissions process and the student support systems at American music institutions.
